OPIS PRODUKTU

Antiphonale Romanum II Ad Vesperas in Dominicis et Festis

Product description:

Singing Sunday Vespers in Gregorian chant, according to the current liturgy, is finally possible, almost thirty years after the publication of the Liturgia Horarum. The second volume of the Antiphonale Romanum is an 800-page book printed on Bible paper, in the typical format of Gregorian chant books from Solesmes. The volume is bound in a beautiful marbled synthetic leather cover in an elegant dark red color, reinforced on the spine, with two bookmarks in red and gold. The book includes everything needed to sing Vespers on Sundays and feast days throughout the year.

It covers hymns, antiphons, psalms, and canticles, as well as readings, responses, intercessory prayers, and concluding prayers. At the end of the book, there is a chapter detailing the principles of singing each of these musical genres. The book complies with the regulations of the Liturgy of the Hours, drawing from the heritage of Gregorian chant contained in medieval manuscripts and later tradition. The proposed melodies have been edited in accordance with the requirements of current musicological criticism. These melodies are presented in a pastoral manner, and their editing is adapted to the needs of amateur choirs: all hymn stanzas are notated, and the typography indicates the adaptation of psalmody tones for each verse.
