ERGOBRASS universal horn support type A and B (includes plates A and B)

With ERGObone, you can play effortlessly, whether sitting or standing.

There is no need to search for reasons to use Ergobrass for the horn. A typical double horn weighs 2–3 kg, plus the weight of your arms, which must be held up along with the instrument. The weight you need to manage is comparable to lifting a 1.5-liter bottle of water in each hand... every time you play.

This constant load causes tension in the arms, shoulders, neck, and back. Although we are accustomed to this weight, upper muscle tension, even if imperceptible, is present. And if that's the case, maybe it's worth preventing it.

Due to the different designs of various horn models, we distinguish 2 types of Ergobrass mounts: type A and B, which must be individually selected for the instrument.

Characteristics:

• Type A fits, among others, Alexander 1103, Schmid, and other horns with a similar design
• Type B fits, among others, Alexander 103, many Holton and Yamaha models, and others with a similar design

The metal plate should be attached near the horn's center of gravity and connected to a rod supported by a chair or a plastic handle suspended in a convenient harness. The spring mechanism ensures smooth playing. The horn freely floats atop the spring. The rod height is easily adjustable. The rod with a foot is intended for sitting use, while the harness can be used in both sitting and standing positions.

An additional telescopic rod is helpful when a small child sits on a high chair – the telescope can then be rested on the ground (as shown in the pictures). The additional telescope is not included in the basic set and must be ordered separately. The telescope consists of 5 parts and 4 comfortable locks to achieve the desired position.

ERGOBRASS for children

The problem with children – as every teacher knows – is the slow drooping of the upper body due to the instrument's weight. During this time, the spine, lungs, and the entire upper body are directed downward. How could anyone develop proper technique and effective blowing in this position?

In reality, all these reactions are natural. The body tries to find a position where it can tolerate the resulting physical tensions. Unfortunately, this has a destructive impact on the player's health and technical abilities.

It is known that one of the most challenging tasks for a young player is maintaining a good instrument position – even when the teacher is not around!

Symptoms of improper instrument holding include fatigue and stiffness of the playing apparatus in the first instance. This may ultimately lead to pain and degeneration in the wrist, shoulder, elbow, or upper back and neck. This can reduce effectiveness and the enjoyment of playing. It doesn't have to be this way. If the young horn player does not tire, they will practice much longer daily.

With ERGOBRASS, adopting an incorrect posture is impossible. Children can play longer without fatigue. They can learn proper blowing, and their technique develops faster and better.
