Trombonists playing on a 58 mouthpiece and aspiring for a larger size—but not yet a 59—will love the feel of the Griego 1.25. Most bass trombone mouthpieces are unbalanced, leading to inconsistent sound characteristics across the entire range. We have put a lot of effort into balancing the cup, bore, and backbore of our mouthpieces. The final result is a stable tone and consistent sound quality in every register.

The NY design is slightly heavier than contemporary Bach mouthpieces. The increased weight is due to a wider cup bottom, resulting in a broader, more spacious sound compared to conventional mouthpieces. The NY model also ensures clarity in the mid-register, unlike other mouthpieces that tend to blend into the background among other instruments.
