Georg Friedrich Händel: Concerto grosso in D major HWV 323 Op. 6 No. 5 – Oboe 2

Concerto grosso in D major HWV 323 Op. 6 No. 5 belongs to Georg Friedrich Händel's famous set of twelve Concerti grossi Op. 6, composed in 1739. The work demonstrates the composer's mastery in combining the concertante style with contrapuntal writing, distinctive rhythms and rich Baroque ornamentation.

The concerto consists of six contrasting movements and employs the characteristic Baroque contrast between the concertino and ripieno groups. The key of D major gives the work a particularly festive and radiant character, while the wind parts add distinctive colors to the ensemble sound.

This copy contains the second oboe part. It is an individual orchestral part intended for the oboist's use during performance; it is not a full score or a complete set of performance materials.
