Title: Et in templo eius omnis loquetur gloriam

Description: Rafał Janiak is a composer, conductor and educator. He graduated with distinction in composition under Professor Stanisław Moryto and in conducting under Professor Antoni Wit at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He holds a doctoral degree in musical arts in conducting and currently works at the university as an assistant professor.

Janiak has received numerous awards in composition competitions, including First Prize at the Jan Paul II Composition Competition in Warsaw, prizes at the Musica Sacra International Composition Competition and the Tadeusz Baird National Competition for Young Composers. In 2017, he won the second stage of the International Composition Competition for the opera Man of the Manufactory, whose jury was chaired by Professor Krzysztof Penderecki.

His works have been performed by leading Polish ensembles and orchestras, including the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Polish Radio Orchestra, the Grand Theatre Orchestra in Łódź, the UMFC Symphony Orchestra and the Polish Chamber Choir.

As a conductor, Janiak regularly performs with major Polish orchestras and conducts opera productions at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw and Łódź and the Warsaw Chamber Opera. In 2012–2013 he was assistant conductor to Antoni Wit, and in the 2013–2014 season to Jacek Kaspszyk at the Warsaw Philharmonic. In 2016 he became artistic director of the newly established Chopin University Chamber Orchestra.
