The first volume of CANTABO by Jerzy Paczyński contains 100 choral songs arranged for three- and four-part mixed choir a cappella. The publication was prepared primarily for parish choirs and responds to their repertoire needs, while also taking into account the decreasing number of male voices in parish choirs.

The collection includes, among other works, the Ordinary of the Mass, Advent songs, and an extensive section of carols and Christmas songs. It also contains English-language Christmas carols and seasonal songs.

The repertoire includes works, songs and motets representing a variety of sound qualities and musical styles, ranging from medieval music to Romanticism, and covering different levels of difficulty. This makes the collection suitable for choirs with varying levels of experience.

The publication includes a CD containing MP3 recordings illustrating possible approaches to performing the works included in the collection.

Jerzy Paczyński studied choral conducting at the Academy of Music in Katowice. He has worked as an organist for many years and collaborates with choirs in the Archdiocese of Katowice. His interests include harmony, counterpoint, musical styles and compositional techniques. His artistic preferences are particularly connected with the 19th-century sound aesthetic, while he also has a strong appreciation for Baroque music.
