OPIS PRODUKTU

Johann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D major BWV 1050

Bach’s Fifth Brandenburg Concerto in D major, BWV 1050, is one of his best-known instrumental concertos. The work is scored for transverse flute, violin, harpsichord, strings and basso continuo. The harpsichord has a particularly prominent role, including an extended virtuoso solo passage in the first movement. The concerto combines a clear concertante structure with lively dialogue between the solo instruments and ensemble, while its three movements – Allegro, Affettuoso and Allegro – display different aspects of Bach’s instrumental style.

The BA5112 85 edition contains only the violone / contrabass part. It is an individual instrumental part intended for performance with the ensemble. It is not a full score and does not constitute a complete set of performance materials.
