The second volume of Ludwik Lutak's Method for Trumpet, Cornet or Tenor Saxhorn continues the systematic course of instruction for brass instruments. The exercises are organized according to individual technical problems, allowing the teacher to select material according to each student's needs, abilities and level of advancement.

The author places particular emphasis on the conscious and correct development of the playing apparatus. Special attention is given to avoiding the premature forcing of the upper register, which can lead to incorrect embouchure, weakened tone quality and limitations in technical proficiency.

The publication covers scales and arpeggios throughout the instrument's full range, more difficult enharmonic notation, exercises for extending the range and developing technical facility, ensemble exercises for improving intonation, exercises for lip flexibility, whole-tone scales and exercises, exercises involving wide intervals, double and triple tonguing, transposition and more advanced etudes.

The arrangement of the material is intended as a general framework. The teacher should determine the order in which the exercises are studied and the pace of progression according to the individual abilities and needs of each student.
