Publication type: full score, Urtext edition

Description: Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, K. 414 was composed in Vienna in 1782 and belongs to the first piano concertos he wrote after settling in the city. The work combines the elegance of the Classical style with a chamber-like character, transparent texture and an exceptionally close dialogue between the solo piano and orchestra.

The concerto consists of three movements: Allegro, Andante and Allegretto. Mozart gives the orchestra a significant role, allowing the individual instrumental groups to actively participate in the musical narrative. The middle movement is particularly lyrical, while the finale is distinguished by its lightness and lively character.

This publication contains the full score, including the solo piano part and the complete notation of all orchestral parts. It is primarily intended for conductors, performers, teachers and analytical study.

The Bärenreiter Urtext edition forms part of the complete performance materials for K. 414. Individual orchestral parts and the piano reduction are available as separate publications.
