Original title: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 12 in A major, K. 414

Instrumentation: solo piano and orchestra

Publisher: Bärenreiter Verlag

Publisher's number: BA 4876 HARM

Description: Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, K. 414 was composed in Vienna in 1782 and belongs to the first concertos he wrote after settling in the city. The work is distinguished by its elegance, chamber-like character and particularly clear dialogue between the solo piano and orchestra.

The concerto consists of three movements: Allegro, Andante and Allegretto. In the second movement, Mozart draws on material from the overture to his opera La finta giardiniera, giving the music a lyrical and song-like character.

This publication contains the wind parts required for orchestral performance. It forms part of Bärenreiter's complete orchestral material for K. 414 and is intended for wind players performing their parts during rehearsals and concerts.
