Description: Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major, K. 449 was composed in Vienna in 1784 and belongs to the remarkably mature series of piano concertos written during this period. Compared with many of his earlier concertos, Mozart gives the work a more chamber-like character, creating a continuous dialogue between the solo piano and orchestra.

The concerto consists of three movements: Allegro vivace, Andantino and Allegro ma non troppo. Particularly notable are its rich motivic development and the sophisticated use of the wind instruments, which are given a more independent role than in many earlier works. The concerto represents an important stage in the development of Mozart's piano-concerto style, combining solo virtuosity with refined ensemble writing.

The Bärenreiter Urtext edition presents a carefully established musical text based on historical sources, without the later editorial alterations characteristic of practical performing editions. The score is suitable both for study and for concert preparation.
