Otto M. Schwarz: Concerto for Trumpet No. 1 “Trumpet Town”

Trumpet Town is Austrian composer Otto M. Schwarz's first trumpet concerto. The work is designed as an effective concert piece in which the solo trumpet remains at the center of the musical action, while the piano accompaniment serves as a reduction of the orchestral part.

The composition combines the virtuosic character of the solo part with distinctive rhythms and a contemporary harmonic language. Its contrasting musical characters and broad interpretive possibilities make it an attractive choice for trumpeters preparing for concerts, auditions and competitions.

This edition is intended for performance with solo trumpet and piano. The piano provides a reduction of the orchestral accompaniment, allowing the concerto to be performed without a full orchestra.
