A collection of 51 popular and well-loved piano studies intended for children beginning their piano education. Stanisława Raube compiled and edited pieces with a gradually increasing level of difficulty, making the publication a practical resource for developing fundamental piano technique. The collection includes works by, among others, Ludwig Köhler, Helena Gnesina, L. Demaux, Ludwig Schytte, Carl Gurlitt, Aleksandr Goedicke, Hermann Berens, Martin Frey, Franz Hünten and Henri Bertini. The collection has been included in the curriculum for first-level music schools.

The studies develop finger evenness and independence, coordination between the hands, technical fluency, articulation and ease of movement across the keyboard. Their short forms and varied musical character make the collection suitable both for systematic technical practice and for adding variety to everyday piano lessons.
