Description: The second volume of Choral Conducting Compendium is the middle part of the three-volume textbook by German composer, educator and choirmaster Kurt Thomas (1904–1973), revised and supplemented by his student Alexander Wagner.

The volume develops and expands the subjects introduced in the first part, with particular emphasis on the practical training of choral conductors. It contains 36 choral compositions representing a variety of styles and closely related to the conducting problems discussed in the textbook. Each work is accompanied by comments concerning conducting technique as well as stylistic and interpretative issues.

The authors discuss historically informed performance of music from different periods, advanced conducting techniques, assessing the difficulty of choral repertoire, and the use of the piano during choir rehearsals.
