Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major, K. 449 for Piano and Orchestra – Piano Reduction

Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major, K. 449 was composed in Vienna in 1784 and was the first of six piano concertos he wrote during this exceptionally productive period. The work is distinguished by its close dialogue between piano and orchestra, transparent texture and considerable independence of the orchestral parts.

The concerto consists of three movements: Allegro vivace, Andantino and Allegro ma non troppo. Mozart combines the elegance of the Classical style with sophisticated motivic development and refined dialogue between the soloist and ensemble.

BA 5381a is a piano reduction containing the solo piano part together with a reduction of the orchestral material for piano. It is primarily intended for study, rehearsals with the soloist and performances in which the orchestral part is played on piano. The reduction was prepared by Michael Töpel on the basis of the Urtext of the New Mozart Edition.
