YAMAHA YMP-204M Mellophone F, lacquered, with case

The YMP-204M mellophone offers a rich tone with excellent sound projection. Its design was developed in collaboration with top orchestras worldwide. This collaboration resulted in several significant improvements to the instrument's construction, including bracing reinforcements for a more "open," free airflow and enhanced playing comfort. The configuration and rebalancing of the mellophone significantly improve playability, intonation, and tonal characteristics.

Perfectly Balanced

All Yamaha marching instruments are perfectly balanced, making them ideal for marching bands.

Comfortable to Hold

Perfectly positioned valves ensure comfortable play, quiet action, and easy intonation adjustments. The ergonomic valve configuration facilitates smooth airflow and piston action, enhancing intonation and the instrument's response to the musician's playing.

Seamless Bell Joints

Thanks to laser-welded brass joints, the instrument's bell is virtually seamless, significantly improving tonal continuity and vibrations.

Pressure-Formed Tubes

Perfectly round tubes ensure free airflow, offering greater tonal possibilities and reduced air resistance, significantly enhancing playing comfort.

Durable Construction Reinforcements

All Yamaha instruments used in marching bands feature special reinforcements at the most critical structural points, making them extremely durable.

Thumb Rest on the First Valve

All Yamaha brass marching instruments (except the YEP-201M model) feature a thumb rest on the first valve for better intonation adjustments.
