YAMAHA Bb Trumpet Model YTR-9335 CHS 05, with Case

The main consultant for the development of the new Chicago trumpet was John Hagstrom from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In addition to testing parts and prototypes with John and his colleagues, we referenced some of the famous classic models owned by CSO in our production process. These instruments were analyzed in the finest detail—not to copy them, but to understand what makes them so special. Every element of the instrument was developed in collaboration with top artists from around the world, resulting in the outstanding Chicago trumpet.

New Chicago trumpet

Powerful sound and playing comfort of both Chicago Bb and C trumpets in a single instrument. Other features include quick response, excellent high register definition, and a broad lower range. The beautiful timbre and solid sound of the YTR-9335CHS allow for great expressive possibilities.

Bell design

The newly designed bell affects the overall sound of the instrument. The wall thickness gradually decreases towards the U-shaped rim, ensuring ideal air resistance and greater playing comfort. This results in a "three-dimensional" and highly resonant sound, particularly in the upper register.

New adjustment system

By utilizing a thicker leadpipe, an original Malone Pipe™ (MB1), and a shallower mouthpiece receiver, we have achieved improved tone and response while providing ideal blowing resistance.

Enhanced response and optimized air resistance

The new shape of the top and bottom valve caps and their reinforced interior structure improve tonal flexibility, ensuring focused and exceptionally clear sound.

Improved water key (YTR-9335CHS)

The extended and curved main water key optimizes air resistance. The design and materials used in its construction have been enhanced, ensuring even better response.
