OPIS PRODUKTU

YAMAHA YTR-9445 CHS 05 C Trumpet

The Yamaha Xeno Artist models were designed in collaboration with leading orchestras – The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and The New York Philharmonics. Yamaha’s global technical team worked with many artists to understand what they truly expect from a trumpet. After summarizing their insights, Yamaha selected John Hagstrom (from Chicago) and Bob Sullivan (from New York) as the representatives for the new models. CHICAGO trumpets offer a strong and focused sound, while NEW YORK models are characterized by a warm, expansive tone.

The main consultant in the development of the new Chicago trumpet was John Hagstrom from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In addition to testing parts and prototypes, John and his colleagues used some of the famous classic models owned by CSO as reference points in the production process. These instruments were analyzed in the smallest details – not to be copied, but to understand what makes them so special. Every element of the instrument was developed in collaboration with top artists from around the world. As a result, we present the exceptional Chicago trumpet.

New Bell Design

The newly designed bell features a shape that narrows toward the pistons and a squared-corner U-shaped crook, providing the performer with ideal blowing resistance. This results in a richer sound with a strong tonal core, improving upper register playability. The wall thickness gradually tapers, becoming thinner towards the rim. The flat rim helps keep the sound cohesive even at extreme dynamic ranges.

New Adjustment System

By using a main tuning slide in the original Malone Pipe™ (MB1) style and a shallower mouthpiece, we achieved improved tonal quality while maintaining ideal blowing resistance and faster response. To avoid soldering a finger hook support, the trumpet's sound is even purer and clearer.

Malone Pipe™ is an original main tuning slide configuration designed by renowned artist Bob Malone. It offers a faster response, excellent intonation, and outstanding tonal quality. Bob Malone opened his own brass instrument workshop in Los Angeles in 1983. Since then, he has created many original structural solutions. In 2001, he joined the Yamaha Wind Instrument Research and Development team. The original Malone Pipe™ design has been used for years in Xeno Artist and Custom series models, ensuring excellent sound with outstanding projection.

Improved Response and Ideal Blowing Resistance

The new shape of the top and bottom valve caps and the reinforced structure of their interiors enhance the instrument’s tonal flexibility, providing a more focused and exceptionally clean sound.

The First Valve Slide

The first valve slide has been specially reinforced to ensure a more concentrated and exceptionally pure sound.

Third Valve Stopper

The third valve slide stopper has been repositioned to allow the slide to extend fully to achieve a low F and facilitate alternate fingerings. The enlarged stopper cap at the end of the slide is the result of extensive research and ensures the right amount of blowing resistance.

Valve Slide Stopper

The slide stopper is used to prevent the trumpet slides from coming off the instrument. It is made of silicone rubber, which does not discolor the instrument’s finish like regular rubber. It can remain in place while playing. (Length: 12 cm)
